Nikhil Nanda : Badaun, Industrialist Nikhil Nanda, son-in-law of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and Chairman & Managing Director of Escorts Kubota, has been booked in a case of fraud and abetment to suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district. The case was registered at Dataganj police station following a court directive.
The complaint was filed by Gyanendra, whose brother, Jitendra Singh, ran a tractor dealership, Jai Kisan Traders. According to the complaint, Nanda and several company officials, including area manager Ashish Baliyan, sales manager Sumit Raghav, and UP head Dinesh Pant, allegedly pressured Jitendra to meet aggressive sales targets. They reportedly threatened to revoke his dealership license and auction his property if he failed to comply.
On November 21, Jitendra was allegedly harassed by company officials during a visit. The next day, he died by suicide. His family claims that despite lodging a complaint, police took no action until the court intervened.
Jitendra’s father, Shiv Singh, has directly blamed Escorts Kubota for his son’s death. He also stated that he was unaware of Nanda’s connection to the Bachchan family. “I don’t know who he is. We want justice,” he told local media.
Authorities have now launched an investigation, and Dataganj police have confirmed that the case is under active review.
