JioHotstar Launch : JioHotstar has officially launched in India, bringing together the vast content libraries of Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema under a single platform. The merger, which was finalized by Viacom18 and Star India, has raised several questions among existing subscribers about their current plans, content availability, and new pricing.
What Happens to Existing Disney+ Hotstar & JioCinema Subscribers?
- Disney+ Hotstar users can continue their existing subscriptions at the old rates for three months. After that, they will have to migrate to the new JioHotstar plans.
- JioCinema Premium users will automatically be shifted to JioHotstar Premium for the remaining duration of their plan. Once expired, they must purchase the new JioHotstar plans.
- JioCinema’s ₹29 per month plan users have received a three-month extension.
JioHotstar Subscription Plans & Pricing
JioHotstar now offers three different plans:
- Mobile Plan (₹149 for 3 months, ₹499 annually) – Single-screen access with ads, limited to mobile devices.
- Super Plan (₹299 for 3 months, ₹899 annually) – Dual-screen access, ad-supported, works on mobile, web, and TV.
- Premium Plan (₹1,499 annually) – Four-screen access, ad-free experience (except live sports).

JioHotstar combines content from Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema, offering:

JioHotstar will introduce AI-driven recommendations and streaming in 19 languages, enhancing user experience with personalized content suggestions.
